Dear TJL Families,

As we return from the long weekend, it's important to take a moment to honor the meaning of Memorial Day and reflect with gratitude on the sacrifices made by those who served our country. With June just around the corner, we are officially in the home stretch of the school year! There's still so much to look forward to, including this week’s important “Delay is the Way” PTA-sponsored event for our K–5 students. We’re grateful for our PTA’s continued partnership in bringing meaningful and memorable experiences to our school community.

5/27 OMS STEAM Fair

Oldfield Middle School is hosting its 4th Annual STEAM Fair on Monday, May 27th at 7:00 PM in the OMS Auditorium, and TJL students and families are invited to attend!
This exciting event will feature amazing student projects, hands-on activities, robot races, engineering games, slime experiments, and a special STEAM guest speaker. It's a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in a fun and interactive way.
We hope to see many of our future innovators and creators from TJL there!

5/29- Delay is the Way- Important Event Information

We’re excited to invite you to a meaningful parent session titled “Delay Is The Way” on Thursday, May 29th, from 7:00–8:00 PM in the TJL Auditorium.

Join Clinical Psychologist Dr. Kristen Memoli and Harborfields educators as we explore the challenges of raising children in a digital world. Topics include:
  • The impact of smartphones and social media on children
  • What educators are noticing in classrooms
  • Strategies for protecting children online
  • The benefits of delaying smartphone use
  • Practical tips and tools for families
This session is packed with helpful resources, expert insights, and time for Q&A. FREE childcare is available for WDPS and TJL students. Snacks, games, and activities will be provided for kids.
Let’s come together to support one another in making informed, confident choices for our children’s well-being.

Delay is the Way

5/30- In School 4th Grade Band Concert

The In-School 4th Grade Band Concert will take place on Friday, 5/30! Students should wear their green music shirts to school on this day. The evening concert will take place at Harborfields High School on Monday, June 2nd at 7PM.

Annie Jr. Tickets are on Sale!

Leapin’ Lizards! We’re thrilled to announce that tickets are now on sale for Annie Jr., the debut production of the brand-new TJL 5th Grade Theater Club! This exciting performance is presented in partnership with the Community Playhouse of Northport.
A talented cast of 27 fifth graders has been hard at work rehearsing since February under the direction and choreography of club advisor Suzie Lustig. They can’t wait to take the stage and dazzle the audience!
Performances will be held at Harborfields High School on:
  • Friday, June 13 at 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 PM
Tickets are available for $10 at the door (cash only) or $12 online (credit card). Don’t miss this heartwarming and high-energy show—come cheer on our amazing students
