The month of May has been a true celebration of student achievement across the Harborfields Central School District. From concerts and induction ceremonies to academic and athletic award nights, it has been my great pleasure to attend so many events that honor the dedication, talent, and character of our students. What makes these moments even more meaningful is witnessing the joy and pride on the faces of families as they cheer on their children.
As we look ahead to the final weeks of the school year, I’m excited for the celebrations still to come, including field days, more performances, and our beloved moving up and commencement ceremonies. These milestone moments are some of the most heartwarming of the year. While we will all be selfishly sad to see our seniors leave us, we know they are well prepared to do great things and carry the spirit of Harborfields wherever they go.
Track Superstars - Four County Championships!
Congratulations are in order for all of our teams on an amazing spring season full of accolades. Some teams are continuing into the postseason, including our boys' and girls' track teams, who recently competed in the Suffolk County Championship meet on Friday. I am pleased to share that three athletes earned the title of County Champion! First, Sayla Fives won the 2-mile (3200 meter) race and then followed up with a win in the mile (1500 meter) race as a 2x County Champ! Next, Tristan Blake went on to win the triple jump, setting a new school record of 46 feet, ¼ inch. Vance Sherman won the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, ½ inch! Way to go, Tornadoes!

Memorial Day Parade - Honoring our Fallen Heroes
If you lined the streets of Greenlawn and Centerport for the Memorial Day Parades, chances are you saw and heard the talented Harborfields’ bands in action! The Harborfields High School Marching Band and Oldfield Middle School's 6th - 8th Grade Band proudly participated in both parades. The Marching Band had the honor of performing the National Anthem and Taps at each ceremony. Let's not forget the high school Kickline team who accompanied the marching band, bringing even more HF pride and spirit to the day. Thank you to our performing groups for doing their part to honor our fallen heroes.

Honoring our Seniors
The Senior Awards Ceremony was an extra special evening celebrating the Class of 2025 and their outstanding achievements in academics, citizenship, service, and awarded scholarships. The ceremony would not be complete without the announcement of the top ten seniors! With great pride, Dr. Farrelly took the stage to recognize the following outstanding students: Sara Tovar-Guacaneme, Valedictorian; Delilah Shapiro, Salutatorian; Samuel Brettschneider, Lila Porzio, Alexander Meagher, Andrew Walden, Adeline Chunton, Avery Bielawski, Emily Xie, and Hartley Semmes. We are so proud of the entire graduating class and all that you’ve accomplished! Once a Tornado, Always a Tornado
The final Career Readiness Network (CRN) meeting of the school year was one to remember! A special group of recent Harborfields alumni returned to share valuable insights about their college experiences and reflect on how Harborfields, the business department, and the CRN (formerly the IAB) helped shape their journeys. I was thrilled to see Ivie Mergille ’23, Jenna Cuti ’23, Nabeeha Ilyas ’23, Joseph LaSpisa ’23, Matthew Lusby ’23, Jayden Asuncion ’23, Ryan Wilson ’23, and Bobby Constantatos ’24, and hear how prepared they were to enter college and listen as they shared wise words with current students. Health & Welfare Committee Survey
The Harborfields Council of PTAs Health and Wellness Committee is committed to supporting the well-being of our students and families in the areas of nutrition, mental health, physical activity and fitness, and digital wellness. To help guide future educational programming and resources, the committee is asking families to complete a brief survey focused on various health and wellness topics. Your input is invaluable in helping the committee better understand the needs and interests of our school community. We encourage all families to click here to take the survey, which will only take a few minutes to complete. Your voice will help shape the meaningful initiatives that promote health, safety, and overall wellness for everyone in our district.
 Delay Is The Way Presentation
Thanks to the combined efforts of the Washington Drive and TJL PTAs, parents and community members attended an informative presentation on delaying the use of phones and social media. Clinical Psychologist Dr. Kristen Memoli presented real-life data and statistics to help HF families make informed decisions about the use of technology among their children.
