Dear TJL Families,
Spring activities are beginning, and it has been wonderful to have our students back outside enjoying recess! On days when the weather requires indoor recess, we will prioritize games and cooperative play, so students will not use Chromebooks during that time. If you have any cards, puzzles, or board games you would like to send to your child’s classroom, we would love to add them to our collection.
We have a fun and busy week ahead at TJL. Tonight, we look forward to welcoming families for 4th Grade Parent Band Night, which is always such a special event for our students and their families. On Tuesday, St. Patrick’s Day, don’t forget to wear green! That same day, our TJL PTA Penny Wars fundraiser will kick off, bringing a little friendly competition and school spirit to the week. On Wednesday, March 18th, we will recognize World Down Syndrome Day...let's Rock our Socks!
Our 3rd Grade Health & Wellness Fair will also take place this week in partnership with the SCRUBS Club from Harborfields High School, giving students a chance to learn more about healthy habits and wellness from our high school leaders. In addition, our 5th graders will enjoy a special assembly with Chris Poulos, a BMX rider who will amaze students with incredible tricks while sharing an inspiring message about respect, responsibility, and how perseverance can take you far in life.
Finally, a quick reminder that report cards will be posted to the Parent Portal on Thursday.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful week ahead.
Mrs. Washington
