Hello TJL Families,

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weekend. I had the honor of attending the Special Olympics yesterday, where Harborfields proudly sent its very first team. It was especially meaningful to see some of our own TJL students participating. We are so proud of them!

This past Friday, we kicked off Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout May, students and staff are encouraged to wear green each Friday to show support and raise awareness.

And guess what… this week is National Teacher Appreciation Week! I encourage you to take a moment to thank a teacher. We are so grateful for the dedication, care, and heart our TJL educators bring to our school community each and every day.

5/8- Wear Green Friday- Mental Health Awareness

Throughout the month of May, our TJL school community is encouraged to wear green every Friday to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month. Green represents hope, kindness, and support for mental health and wellness.

By wearing green, we can help promote kindness, support for one another, and spread TJL pride! We invite all staff and students to join us each Friday in May (starting tomorrow!) by wearing green to show that mental health matters.

Upcoming Events

SEPTA- Urban Air Playdate- May 15th

We are excited to share that Harborfields SEPTA will be hosting an Urban Air Playdate on Friday, May 15th, from 5:30–8:30 PM at Urban Air in Dix Hills. This fun and inclusive event is open to all and is a great opportunity for our students to connect, play, and enjoy an evening together.

The cost is $45 per child and includes pizza, drinks, and socks. Please note that this is not a drop-off event, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Click here to purchase a ticket!

We hope many of our TJL families will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to come together and have some fun!

OMS STEAM Fair- May 21st

We are excited to share that Oldfield Middle School will be hosting their 5th Annual STEAM Fair on May 21st at 7:00 PM in the OMS Auditorium! This is a wonderful opportunity for our TJL students and families to experience the incredible world of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Students will have the chance to explore amazing projects, participate in hands-on activities, enjoy engineering challenges, and even see robots in action. It’s always a fun and inspiring evening, and a great way for our students to get a glimpse of what’s ahead at OMS.
We hope to see many of our TJL families there!
