TJL Weekly Update

9/22-9/25

Good morning TJL Families,

I hope you’re enjoying the long weekend! It was such a joy to see so many of you at our Meet the Teacher Nights last week.

As our schools are closed today in observance of Yom Kippur, we wish all of our families who observe a meaningful and peaceful day.

This week, TJL will take part in Start with Hello Week and Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness, two important opportunities for our students to learn, connect, and show kindness.

Please take a look at the information below for details about the week ahead.

Have a wonderful day,

Mrs. Washington

Important Information for the Week

Start with Hello Week

We are excited to announce that TJL will be participating in Start with Hello Week from September 22nd to September 25th. This important initiative from Sandy Hook Promise promotes inclusion and kindness. Throughout the week, students will engage in fun activities designed to help them reach out, make new friends, and create a more connected school community.

5th Grade Theater Club Info Meeting- 9/22

Calling all 5th graders! TJL Theater Club is excited to present Disney’s Frozen KIDS this year! Students interested in joining are invited to attend an Interest Meeting on Tuesday, September 22, where they’ll learn about Theater Club, auditions, and the music and acting material for the show. Please make sure to send a note to school if your child is staying after school for the meeting (the meeting will be over at 4:30pm).

Auditions will be held Wednesday, September 30. We can’t wait to see our 5th graders take the stage!

Friday 9/25- Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

TJL will Go Gold this Friday in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

We encourage all students and staff to wear yellow or gold as a show of support and unity. This day is especially meaningful as we recognize and support all those whose lives have been impacted by cancer.

We look forward to seeing TJL shine in gold!

Harlem Wizards Wizfit Challenge

We are excited to partner with the HF PTA Council to bring the Harlem Wizards WizFit Challenge to our schools! This fun and engaging program encourages students to get active while working together to support our schools. Students will learn more about the challenge on Tuesday, September 22, as we kick off this exciting program! Stay tuned for more information on how your family can participate.
