Good afternoon TJL Families,

As we look ahead to another wonderful week at TJL, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for our incredible school community! We have so many exciting events ahead that bring our students together and celebrate the spirit of TJL!

Our TJL Read to Feed initiative is a wonderful opportunity to give back, and we encourage all students and families to bring in non-perishable food items to donate to HACO during our Read-In. We also can't wait for our annual walk over to the Harborfields High School football field to enjoy the Marching Band Showcase...always a favorite tradition! On Wednesday, we will come together to recognize Unity Day by wearing orange and celebrating kindness, inclusion, and belonging.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. It's going to be a wonderful week filled with school spirit, community, and opportunities to make a difference!

Important Information for the Week

10/20 & 10/22- TJL Read to Feed! Read-In Reminder

The TJL PTA looks forward to welcoming our Read-In participants this week on 10/20 & 10/22! Please remember to arrive 10 minutes early, bring your ID, books, a blanket and any healthy, non-perishable food donation items to help stock HACO’s pantry. See schedule below!

10/21- HHS Marching Band Showcase

TJL students will have the exciting opportunity to take a walking field trip to HHS on Wednesday, 10/21 (Rain Date Thursday, 10/22). They will see a showcase by the Harborfields High School Marching Band!

Please make sure that you have returned your child's walking field trip form so that they can participate. Additionally, please send your child to school that day with a towel to sit on (if the bleachers are wet).

10/21- Unity Day- Wear Orange

We will be celebrating Unity Day and standing together to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Wear orange on October 21 to show that everyone belongs at TJL!

10/21- TJL PTA School Store is Open!

This Wednesday, the TJL School Store will be open during the students’ lunch periods. If your student wishes to shop, please have them bring cash. Items range from $.50 to $5.

Upcoming Safety Drill Notification

This week, we will be conducting a fire drill. These notifications are provided to help you, if necessary, have conversations with your child to ensure they feel comfortable and prepared. As part of our commitment to student and staff safety, we conduct various safety drills throughout the school year. The purpose of these drills is to help everyone become familiar with our emergency procedures and respond quickly and effectively should a real emergency occur. Details of the Upcoming Drill:

Type of Drill: Fire (Evacuation)
Time Frame: Within the next week

Please note that the exact date and time of drills are not shared in advance for security reasons.

Say, “Cheese!”. TJL Picture Days will be next Mon Oct 26th - Wed Oct 28th. Please see the attached schedule for your student’s day.

TJL PTA PIE SALE! Enjoy delicious Thanksgiving pies while supporting our school at the same time!

ORDER NOW through November 14th. Pie-pick up will be on Tuesday, Nov 24th at TJL from 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Don’t need a pie yourself or just want a way to support our community? Add “Purchase a Pie for HACO” to your cart and a pie will be delivered to them directly!
